Audio Description for Inside All Different, 2025, Video Still co-created by Participant Twenty-eight – Edith, and Victoria Hamilton, Chromaluxe print on HD Metal, 25 x 45cm.

The artwork titled ‘Inside All Different’ is an unframed print created between 2024 – 2025. It measures 45 cm width and 25 cm high and is a Chromaluxe print on HD Metal – a method chosen to echo the clarity, depth, and vividness of the experience of a Charles Bonnet Vision. The artwork depicts a dimly lit living room featuring a crowd of people. The impression is of a social event although everything is not quite right. Covering half of the image from the bottom up is the crowd numbering approximately 30 people in total. The individuals, dressed in dark toned clothing, and varying in age and heights, are translucent and facing inwards, making details difficult to discern.

The living rooms atmosphere, while domestic, appears disturbed. Soft, diffuse lighting creates a muted atmosphere. Left of centre is a large fireplace with a warm glowing hearth and a timber mantle cluttered with ceramic bowls, plates, vases with flowers, and other assorted decorative items. To the far left a long musk pink curtain extends from ceiling to floor. Between the mantle and the curtain some flowers hang on the wall. On the far right is a wooden hall stand with a large pewter vase filled with bright yellow blooms.

Central in the room, mostly obscured by the crowd, is a coffee table adorned with more flowers in a small vase, an assortment of small objects and a bowl. Prominently featured is a comfy leather chair with a big soft cushion. Directly behind the armchair is a out-of-place doorway distorted and glowing with a neon pink, red and blue lights. A bright white light emanates from the doorway’s center. Two paintings in the top right of the image overlap, one appearing translucent as if floating. In the top left middle another painting seems to be in motion, indicated by white streaks of light.

The overall atmosphere is one of disorientation – a domestic scene filled with translucent observers where clarity eludes us.  Participant Twenty Eight – Edith, lives in Perth, Australia. This image is a still from a 1 minute 19 second video created for the Visions of Charles Bonnet Syndrome research by Victoria Hamilton.

Audio Description for Inside All Different diagrams, 2025, created by Victoria Hamilton, in Adobe Illustrator, 40 x 10cm.

The diagram is titled ‘Inside All Different: the vision of Participant Twenty-eight | Edith’. It is a diagram created between 2023 – 2025. It measures 40 cm width and 10 cm high and is a multicoloured print on self-adhesive material, chosen for its clarity in gallery settings and ease of installation.

On the left end of the image, a black-and-white QR code enclosed in a square with chamfered corners spans the full height. Further across the top, the title ‘Inside All Different,  appears centrally placed in large bold black text. To the right edge is ‘the vision of Participant Twenty-eight | Edith’ (please note some of the participants in this research have chosen to disclose their identity). Beneath, a sentence reads: “video still co-created by Participant Twenty-eight, Edith, and Victoria Hamilton.” Below this top line of text, stretching from the QR code to the image’s right edge, is a line of four coloured shapes: a bright pink dotted circle, grey rectangle with curved corners, a blue dotted circle, and a pink dotted circle. These shapes are connected by a thin white line running behind them.

The first pink dotted circle on the left features a title arc of text reading: Action taken on having CBS vision. Across the middle is written: son helps… found a sense of control by focusing on a gas convection heater: then everything is ok. The grey rectangle with curved corners contains a world map with small coloured placemarks indicating participants origins. A light blue fuzzy circle is located over the Western Australia region of the world. Next is a smaller light blue circle text reading: Focus group 4 sight loss – “I have glaucoma, and I’ve had it for about 20 years. I’ve been having these visions for the past eight years, except for a period of three months during those eight years when I had bleeding from it (glaucoma).” The final diagram is a larger pink circle depicting a field of view representing areas of vision loss. Participant Twenty-eight’s diagram shows loss of vision from around the edges.

The overall information represents a participant from Western Australia who has sight loss from glaucoma and finds a focal interior point to help find a sense of control.
